May is Older Americans Month!

Older Americans Month is an opportunity to celebrate  our older adults.  This year the theme in Ohio is "Well Beyond 60!" It recognizes the many ways older adults can and are living longer, healthier and more active lives.

It is never too late to make meaningful changes to your health regardless of your age.  There is always something you can do to be healthier, avoid injury, and keep chronic conditions in check. Three out of four adults over the age of 60 have some type of chronic illness, such as diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure or lung disease.  About one in three older Ohioans will fall this year. Falls can be a single, life-altering event, however falls are not a normal part of aging!

We encourage you to take part in our exercise programs, such as SilverSneakers®, as a way to improve your overall health and well-being. Remember, minor changes can dramatically improve outcomes!
